Food Hygiene and HACCP Training
There is a legal requirement - Regulation (EC) 852 / 2004 that all food handlers undertake food safety training commensurate with their duties.
Training and Courses
Level 1 and Level 2 on-line " Blended " training available.
These on-line courses are based on the HACCP criteria set down by The Food Safety Authority of Ireland's Guide to Food Safety Training.
Environmental Health Association of Ireland (EHAI)
Level 1 and Level 2
Primary course in Food Safety - this covers:
- Introduction to Food Safety
- Microbiological Hazards
- Food Contamination
- HACCP from food delivery to storage
- HACCP from Food Preparation to Cooking and Service
- Personal Hygiene
- Food Premises and Equipment
- Pest Control
- Cleaning and Disinfection

This is a one day course and the successful participants will receive an EHAI Certificate which covers them for 5 years.
NHP Management of Food Hygiene Training Level 3
This is a four day course certified by the National Hygiene Partnership and upon completion of the programme, participants are required to take a written 2 hour examination. It is one of the most advanced food safety courses available and is very highly regarded in the catering industry.
